Where’s Kitchener Ward 5?

The boundaries of Ward 5 are:

On the West: Trussler Road; 

On the North: HWY 8;

On the East: Fischer-Hallman Road between HWY 8 and Bleams Road, Homer Watson from Bleams Road to Huron Road and Strasburg Road from Huron Road to New Dundee Road;

On the South: New Dundee Road.

Who can vote?

In order to vote in the upcoming election, you need to be at least 18 and a resident or tenant in the Region of Waterloo.

What can I vote for?

In Kitchener you’ll have the opportunity to select:

·      1 Regional Chair

·      4 Regional Councillors

·      1 Mayor of Kitchener

·      1 City Councillor for your Ward

·      School Board Trustees (number depends on the school board)

Where and When to Vote

Advanced Polling

You can vote at an advanced polling location from the 10th to the 13th of October. The advanced pilling locations are Kitchener City Hall, Country Hills Community Centre, Forest Heights Community Centre, Stanley Park Community Centre, and Sportsworld Arena.

Advanced polling hours are as follows:

  • Wednesday, Oct. 10: 2-8 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 11: 2-8 p.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 12: 2-8 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 13: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Election Day

Election day is October 22. On election day you need to vote at your local polling location. You can find this on the voter card you received in the mail or on the City of Kitchener website. Polling locations are open from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Identification

To vote you need an official document or piece of identification that shows your name and local address. These include drivers license, health card, and mortgage statement, lease or rental agreement. For a full list click here.
